What an awesome couple of days !! The Lyman Foundation donated sensory bags to the Garden City Police and Fire Departments this week!! Every vehicle will now have a sensory bag!! We had two training days on how to utilize the items in the bags, some of our students spoke about autism, a couple students demonstrated how they use their communication devices ( which two of these devices were donated to the department by Garden City Schools!) We talked about how diverse and different each one of our students are, and we took them on a tour of our building, going into several classrooms so they could meet our students and see what they do here at school. A big thank you to our speech and OT department and our school nurse for sharing their knowledge!! It was a wonderful couple days!! Thank you GCPD and GCFD for coming and wanting to learn about our wonderful students❤️
